Alerion Biomedical, Inc. is a biotechnology company founded in 2016 that is committed to the development and implementation of a new gene therapy vector platform for the treatment of severe hereditary and acquired diseases. Its gene therapy platform utilizes a novel integrating retroviral vector system based on the α-retrovirus family for gene therapy. Unlike other integrating vector systems, the α-retroviral SIN vector integrates into host cells in a nearly random manner, avoiding potentially harmful regions such as promoter/enhancer regions and gene structures. To achieve efficient and scalable manufacturing, we have developed stable human packaging cell lines to produce α-retroviral SIN vectors.
