Immune Pharmaceuticals Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company developing novel therapeutic drugs for the treatment of immune and inflammatory diseases. Immune’s lead program, bertilimumab, is a first-in-class fully human monoclonal antibody that targets and reduces levels of eotaxin-1, a chemokine that plays a role in the immune response and attracts eosinophils to sites of inflammation. By neutralizing eotaxin-1, bertilimumab can block the migration of eosinophils and other cells, thereby helping to alleviate associated inflammatory conditions. Currently, Immune is conducting two Phase 2 clinical trials testing bertilimumab in patients with bullous pemphigoid and ulcerative colitis, respectively. Bertilimumab may also be applicable to other conditions, including atopic dermatitis, asthma, and other eosinophil-mediated diseases.
