Achilles Therapeutics Aims to Develop Next-Generation Patient-Specific Therapies Harnessing the Immune System to Destroy Cancer Cells. These Therapies Will Target Trunk (Also Known as Clonal) Tumor Neoantigens, Unique Markers on the Surface of Every Cancer Cell Recognized by the Immune System. These Trunk Neoantigens Are Generated Early in Cancer Evolution and Are Present on All Cancer Cells Within an Individual Patient’s Tumor but Not on Healthy Cells, Allowing Scientists to Target and Destroy Tumors Without Harming Healthy Tissue.
