Acclaim Biotechnology is a U.S.-based biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing fusion protein therapies for liver cancer. The lead product (CD-CS) is a patented fusion protein comprising a drug-metabolizing enzyme (CD) and a liver-targeting protein (CS) derived from the malaria parasite. The CS protein targets surface receptors on liver cells, while the CD enzyme converts a non-toxic prodrug into a toxic metabolite. This approach exhibits preferential toxicity toward proliferating tumor cells, with minimal impact on non-tumor liver tissue and other organs.
