Access Scientific designs, develops, and commercializes medical devices for vascular access. Its products include the PICC WAND, which enables clinicians to insert radiopaque peelable sheaths using thin-walled/echo needle and Accelerated Seldinger Technique (AST); and the POWER WAND, an extended dwell peripheral IV catheter for power-injectable vascular access. The company’s WAND AST allows for over-the-needle insertion of the sheath and catheter to reduce the risk of catheter loss, contamination, embolism, and accidental needlestick injuries. Access Scientific was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in San Diego, California.
