Epitomee

Epitomee is a private medical device company dedicated to developing digestible devices that address some of today’s most prevalent chronic diseases in a self-administered, safe, and effective manner. Epitomee's first product is a drug-free, self-administered deformable capsule designed to prevent diabetes, address obesity-related comorbidities, and promote a healthier lifestyle. Epitomee Medical is an orally administered capsule containing a deformable scaffold that acts directly on the stomach through mechanical sensory stimulation. Taken twice daily, Epitomee Medical helps the body feel full earlier and prolongs gastric emptying time, thereby reducing daily caloric intake and promoting weight loss. The initial clinical study of Epitomee Medical, equivalent to a Phase 2A drug clinical trial, met its objectives and demonstrated improvements in weight loss and blood glucose control, as well as enhanced blood pressure levels within 12 weeks post-treatment without safety concerns. The goal of this Phase 2B study is to demonstrate the technology’s efficacy over a 24-week trial period in patients who are overweight, obese, or prediabetic.
