Headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland, and a spin-off from Johns Hopkins University, the company is developing a handheld device for detecting changes in pleural effusion at the point of care in homes, physician offices, nursing homes, and hospitals. Vixiar Indicor can replace labor-intensive, expensive, or more invasive methods. The Vixiar Indicor™ is a non-invasive system that analyzes a patient’s pulse response to a controlled Valsalva maneuver.
