Therapixel is a medical analysis software company specializing in artificial intelligence, designing a non-contact image navigation system for operating rooms: interventional radiology or surgery. It relies on depth sensing, research algorithms, and innovative user interfaces to provide a contactless information system that complies with sterile restrictions. Founded in 2013 by Olivier Clatz (INRIA Sophia Antipolis – Méditerranée) and Pierre Fillard (INRIA Saclay Ile-de-France), Therapixel has become one of the leading emerging companies focused on applying artificial intelligence to medical imaging. The company began its journey by developing Fluid, a medical imaging software for non-contact medical image navigation in operating rooms. This tool allows surgeons to visualize X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, etc., and remotely navigate within the interface using gestures. This prevents sterile gloves from being contaminated by computer equipment and saves time when accessing the required medical images during procedures. The product has been on sale since 2015, enabling the company to raise 600,000 euros in seed funding in the same year.
