Basic Information
Sphinx Medical Technologies is a company focused on increasing doctors' income and improving their quality of life while reducing costs, and most importantly, enhancing patient satisfaction while alleviating doctors' stress. The two smartphone applications currently being launched are ScheduleMyPatient (tm) and CallMyDoc (tm). They work as follows: "ScheduleMyPatient" was developed because both doctors and patients feel frustrated when patients have to wait a long time for scheduling new or follow-up appointments. Many office staff are overwhelmed by phone calls and messages, leading to poor patient communication and scheduling errors. Many patients never receive follow-up calls. Additionally, due to improper scheduling, many practice slots remain empty. Moreover, doctors need help to quickly notify patients of abnormal lab tests and imaging results. Our smartphone app addresses these issues. Since Dr. Soliman began using ScheduleMyPatient, she has received only positive feedback from staff and patients. She also implemented the program for patients who find themselves waiting for appointments. Patients can simply hang up the phone, go online to the doctor’s website, and self-schedule. ScheduleMyPatient integrates with all Electronic Medical Records (EMR). CallMyDoc was developed because of the rising costs of current answering services, vague messages received, and sometimes busy signals. Many doctors disconnect without any explanation. Doctors are also frustrated because they lack relevant information about patients calling after hours. Immediate access to patients' medications and allergies is unavailable. Most doctors never remember to log patients’ phone interactions. Doctors are further frustrated by countless questions from local pharmacies regarding DEA, licensing, addresses, and other repetitive issues. This frustration may be exacerbated by disconnected phone lines. Sphinx has been working for nearly three years on replacing smartphone apps and call centers to create the most reliable technology to replace traditional answering services. It is a managed service that integrates with all Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to replace telephone answering services. Patient medications, allergies, lab results, and medical history will appear on the doctor's smartphone. Doctors will be able to respond to patients in multiple ways via their smartphones and send electronic prescriptions directly to patients' pharmacies. Finally, all interactions send a record containing all call details to the patient’s chart, which can be used to create billable notes.
