Basic Information
BCCL is a public sector enterprise engaged in coal mining and related activities. It holds a significant position in the coking coal mined across China, as it produces a large amount of coking coal. BCCL meets nearly 50% of the premium coking coal requirements of the integrated steel industry. BCCL was established in January 1972 and operates coking coal mines in the Jharia & Raniganj coalfields. On October 16, 1971, the Indian government took over the Jharia & Raniganj coalfields.
