Takata Corporation

Takata Corporation is a Japanese automotive parts manufacturer and the world's largest manufacturer of automotive airbags. In 2013, a series of fatalities caused by material defects in automotive airbags led to a global recall of 36 million vehicles across multiple brands. Subsequently, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration required it to recall over 42 million vehicles nationwide. On June 25, 2017, Takata Corporation filed for bankruptcy protection.
