ContraFect

ContraFect is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of biological therapies for life-threatening drug-resistant infectious diseases, particularly those treated in hospital settings. It is estimated that 700,000 people die annually worldwide from antimicrobial resistance infections. We intend to address life-threatening infections using therapeutic product candidates from our Direct Lysin® Platform (DLA), which includes lysins and amurin peptides. We believe DLAs offer the potential for meaningful improvements in clinical outcomes and could transform the treatment paradigm for patients infected with antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Our lead product candidates target deadly drug-resistant infections such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Gram-negative pathogens like multidrug-resistant (MDR) Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
