Venaxis

Venaxis, Inc., formerly known as AspenBio Pharma, Inc., changed its name to the current one in December 2012. VenaxisR is an in vitro diagnostics company focused on the diagnosis and treatment of acute appendicitis. Despite conducting clinical trials, including the pivotal APPY1 trial completed by Venaxis in early 2014, APPY1 has not yet been approved by the FDA. Data indicate high sensitivity and high negative predictive value (NPV), similar to other adjunctive tests currently used by physicians for other conditions.
