Dyax Corp. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of biotherapeutic drugs aimed at unmet medical needs, with an emphasis on inflammatory and oncology indications. The company’s lead product, DX-88, has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the brand name KALBITOR (ecallantide) for the treatment of acute hereditary angioedema (HAE) attacks in patients aged 16 years and older. In addition to its commercial use in the U.S. for HAE, the company is also developing DX-88 for other indications through collaborations. These include working with Cubist Pharmaceuticals (Cubist) to use DX-88 to reduce blood loss during surgery and partnering with Fovea Pharmaceuticals (Fovea Pharmaceuticals) for the treatment of retinal diseases. In the year ended December 31, 2009, Sanofi-Aventis acquired Fovea Pharmaceuticals.On November 2, 2015, Shire acquired Dyax Corp.
