Alexion Pharmaceuticals is a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery, development, and commercialization of biologic therapeutic products aimed at treating rare diseases and life-threatening conditions, including hematologic, renal, and neurologic disorders, transplant rejection, cancer, and autoimmune diseases. Its key products are two complement inhibitors, Soliris and Ultomiris. These drugs have been approved for the treatment of rare diseases mediated by the complement signaling pathway, such as paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) and atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS).
