NovaBay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a company that develops products for the eye care market. We are currently primarily focused on the commercialization of the prescription product Avenova® for managing eyelid and lash hygiene in the United States. Avenova is the only eye care product formulated with a patented, stable, and pure form of hypochlorous acid known as Neutrox®. By mimicking the antimicrobial chemicals used by white blood cells to fight infections, Neutrox has demonstrated broad-spectrum antimicrobial properties in laboratory tests. Avenova with Neutrox can remove debris from the skin of the eyelids and lashes without burning or stinging. We have developed other commercial products containing Neutrox, including NeutroPhase® Skin and Wound Cleanser for wound care and CelleRx® for the dermatology market. We have partners for NeutroPhase in the United States as well as in some overseas markets, particularly in China. In addition to our Neutrox series of products, we have synthesized and developed a second category of novel compounds aimed at leveraging the power of white blood cell chemistry to address the global topical anti-infective market. This second category includes Auriclosene®, our leading clinical-grade Aganocide® compound, a patented synthetic molecule with broad-spectrum activity against bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
