ESSA is a pharmaceutical company focused on developing small molecule drugs for cancer treatment. ESSA’s initial focus is on treating prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is an androgen (male hormone)-driven malignancy, and sixty years of drug development have led to continuous improvements in anti-androgen therapies. However, resistance often develops to these drugs. ESSA has developed a new class of drugs called "anitens," which disrupt androgen-driven biology in a novel way and remain active even in cases resistant to current anti-androgen therapies.
