CarThera is a Lyon- and Paris, France-based developer of ultrasonic medical devices, focusing on the development of ultrasound-based medical devices to treat various brain diseases. SonoCloud is an intracranial implant that can temporarily open the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and increase the concentration of therapeutic molecules in the brain. This ultrasound-induced opening of the blood-brain barrier provides new treatment options for a variety of indications, including brain tumors and Alzheimer's disease. It is currently undergoing clinical trials in Europe and the United States.
