Developer of home exercise equipment and software

Basic Information

Neofect was founded in June 2010 by two students from the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business, Hoyoung Ban and Scott Kim, along with Dr. Young Choi, who studied "Stroke Rehabilitation Algorithms and Robotics" at the University of Southern California. The company proposed a new solution and developed a series of innovative home exercise equipment and software to help patients with hand paralysis recover and rehabilitate quickly. The American start-up medical technology company Neofect was shortlisted for the 2019 CES "Best Startup Company" award with its robotic glove NeoManos. Meanwhile, the company’s robotic glove NeoManos was also shortlisted for the 2019 CES "Best Accessibility Technology Award." NeoMano is a comfortable, soft, and wear-resistant glove powered by titanium wires that can close the wearer’s fingers, thereby helping stroke patients, spinal cord injury (SCI) patients, multiple sclerosis patients, cerebral palsy patients, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients grasp objects with their hands. Neofect has already achieved an IPO in Korea.
