MSIP is responsible for promoting the practical application and commercialization of Mount Sinai's discoveries and inventions, as well as conducting research collaborations with the industry. Their goal is to transform discoveries and inventions into healthcare products and services that benefit patients and society. MSIP oversees the full range of commercialization activities required to bring Mount Sinai’s inventions to life. These activities include evaluation, patent filing, marketing and licensing of new technologies, establishing research collaborations, partnerships with commercial and non-profit entities, material transfer and confidentiality, guiding innovators in advancing commercially relevant translational discoveries, and actively fostering Mount Sinai's entrepreneurial ecosystem within the research and health system community.
