Oramed has developed a novel Protein Oral Delivery (POD™) technology that can transform injectable treatments into oral therapies. Oramed's flagship product, an oral insulin capsule, allows patients with type 2 diabetes to start insulin therapy earlier without the fear of needles, thus having the potential to improve the lives of countless diabetes patients worldwide. Oramed’s oral insulin development is currently in the clinical trial stage, conducted under the supervision of the U.S. FDA for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Beyond oral insulin, the company’s POD™ patented technology can also be applied to orally deliver a range of protein-based drugs that are currently only available via injection.
