Chemed Corporation acquires, operates, and divests subsidiaries engaged in a variety of business activities. Chemed is divided into two segments: Vitas and Roto-Rooter. Vitas focuses on hospice care, which helps make the final days of terminally ill patients as comfortable as possible. Through a team of doctors, nurses, home health aides, social workers, clergy, and volunteers, VITAS provides direct medical care to patients and offers spiritual and emotional counseling to patients and their families. Roto-Rooter provides plumbing and drain cleaning services to residential and commercial customers.
