CuraSen Therapeutics

CuraSen Therapeutics, Inc. is a privately funded biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing new therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, as well as some orphan indications. Millions of patients and their families bear the burden of these diseases, and with the aging population, this number continues to grow each year. Between 2002 and 2012, more than 400 clinical trials were conducted for experimental therapies targeting Alzheimer’s disease, nearly all of which ended in failure—a trend that has continued recently. The few approved drugs for treating this condition can only marginally improve certain symptoms. Treatments for Parkinson’s disease are initially effective in addressing motor symptoms, but non-motor symptoms (cognitive, emotional, and autonomic abnormalities) remain uncontrolled. There are no approved treatments for most orphan indications of neurodegenerative diseases. Despite significant investment in researching and developing new therapies for many neurodegenerative diseases, there is currently no method that can cure or halt the progression of these conditions.
