During the surgical procedure, doctors constantly switch between many different instruments. Functions such as cutting, dissecting, and cauterizing are performed hundreds of times over the course of several hours. Switching between tools interrupts the surgeon’s workflow and increases risks for the patient, ultimately prolonging the operation time.To address this issue, we are developing a multifunctional tool that combines primary functions into a single surgical instrument. Our current main focus is on application tools in the fields of laparoscopic and neurosurgical procedures.
