Basic Information

AbCellera is a privately-held biotechnology company with a proprietary drug discovery platform that searches and analyzes the natural immune system to find antibodies that can be used for disease prevention and treatment. AbCellera’s technology integrates high-throughput microfluidics, ultra-large-scale data science, machine learning, bioinformatics, genomics, and antibody discovery technologies to identify first-in-class drugs, advance disease therapies, and reduce the time required to bring treatments to clinical trials. AbCellera's partners include leading biotech companies, global health organizations, and some of the top ten biopharmaceutical companies.AbCellera rapidly scans, decodes, and analyzes antibodies from the natural immune system, providing more possibilities for discovering antibodies that could be developed into novel treatments. At the same time, the technology developed by AbCellera eliminates bottlenecks in drug discovery, bringing new therapies to patients. The core product of AbCellera is a microfluidic platform that utilizes miniaturized analytical techniques, high-throughput microfluidics, machine vision, and artificial intelligence to screen antibodies from individual B cells. These proprietary assays can be customized based on disease targets or applications to screen for specific therapeutic solutions. AbCellera’s platform can screen millions of cells in a single run and generate hundreds of therapeutic candidates accordingly.Additionally, AbCellera has developed a novel antibody, LY-CoV555. LY-CoV555 is a potent neutralizing IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, which is the main component of the novel coronavirus causing COVID-19. Its mechanism of action involves preventing the virus from attaching to and entering human cells, thereby neutralizing the virus and potentially preventing and treating COVID-19.
