Casma Therapeutics is leveraging the natural cellular process of autophagy to open up vast new target areas for drug discovery and development. Casma employs multiple approaches to intervene at key points in the autophagy-lysosome system, improving and enhancing membrane repair and clearing unwanted proteins, aggregates, organelles, and invading pathogens from cellular processes. By enhancing autophagy, Casma is expected to be able to halt or reverse the progression of diseases such as lysosomal storage disorders, muscular disorders, cancer, inflammatory conditions, and neurodegeneration.
