Piccolo Medical

Piccolo Medical was spun out from Theranova, a medical device incubator based in San Francisco, California. The company is funded by private investors as well as Phase I and Phase II grants from the National Institute on Aging at the U.S. National Institutes of Health. In 2021, Piccolo received 510(k) clearance for its SmartPICC® System. The SmartPICC® System serves as an alternative to chest X-rays, utilizing intravascular electrocardiography to confirm PICC placement at the bedside.
