Second Nature is a diabetes health management company founded in 2015, located in London, UK, and currently has 80 employees. They help people develop healthy habits and lose weight by combining advice from health experts with smart app tracking technology. Previously known as "OurPath," the company was an NHS service provider. Following the success of their Series A funding round, they announced their rebranding to Second Nature.Second Nature is dedicated to creating health plans for people with diabetes, guiding and motivating them to live healthier lives. By helping individuals improve their lifestyles, they aim to reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and related complications.The company was founded by former healthcare strategy consultants Chris Edson and Mike Gibbs with the original purpose of managing diabetes health. Not long after, they became the first "online lifestyle change program" commissioned by the UK National Health Service (NHS).According to statistics, more than 50 CCGs (Clinical Commissioning Groups) are using Second Nature. Additionally, the company is conducting research collaborations with Imperial College London and University College London.
