Theranosis Life Sciences Pvt Ltd is a personalized medicine startup dedicated to addressing unmet needs in cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics. A lab-on-a-chip medical device based on microfluidics is under development, which can detect rare cells (such as circulating tumor cells) in simple blood samples from cancer patients (also known as liquid biopsy) to monitor treatment efficacy, predict clinical outcomes, and follow up post-treatment for cancer recurrence in the form of secondary metastasis (monitoring). The design of the patent-pending advanced microfluidic chip allows it to capture a specific number of rare cells and perform downstream characterization. Its applications can extend beyond cancer research, such as rare fetal cells in maternal blood circulation, circulating endothelial cells in atherosclerosis, etc. Research Collaboration: We invite anyone interested in evaluating our CTC cancer research platform. The most common applications include isolating and enriching target cell populations from peripheral blood. Live cells can be flushed out of the flow cell for downstream applications such as single-cell genomics or transcriptomics. Ideal for drug discovery and development. If a patient has a good immune response, we can find CTC clusters, which are a mixture of CTCs and activated lymphocytes that react to neoantigens expressed by circulating tumor cells. As of March 2019, we have tested our chip in NSCLC and breast cancer.
