Basic Information
MiniMed Group is a large-scale global medical technology company focused on the research, development, production, and sales of integrated solutions in the field of diabetes management. Since its establishment over 40 years ago, we have consistently led the industry with groundbreaking innovations, providing products and services to users worldwide while fulfilling our corporate mission of "making every day better for people with diabetes." Today, we are the only company in the global market that has achieved fully commercialized operation of an integrated diabetes management system with all its components. Our product platform for diabetes patients requiring insulin therapy combines simplicity and clinical effectiveness. Core products include the following two categories: Automated Insulin Delivery System (AID): This is an integrated glucose monitoring and automated insulin delivery solution capable of achieving excellent blood glucose control. The system consists of the following components: an insulin pump (responsible for insulin delivery), disposable insulin infusion sets and reservoirs, continuous glucose monitoring sensors (responsible for blood glucose level detection), and an intelligent dosing algorithm designed to simulate the function of a healthy pancreas. In the automated insulin delivery system, real-time data from the continuous glucose monitoring sensor is transmitted to the intelligent dosing algorithm, which automatically adjusts and corrects the insulin pump's dosage every five minutes based on predefined blood glucose targets and meal recognition technology. This algorithm not only automatically guides insulin delivery but also supports complementary applications, software, and services designed for users, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. Users and caregivers can track and manage treatment plans through compatible smartphone applications. Our automated insulin delivery system product portfolio includes the second-generation MiniMed 780G system, as well as earlier models such as the MiniMed 770G, MiniMed 740G, MiniMed 720G, and MiniMed 630G systems. Smart Multiple Daily Injection System (Smart MDI): For patients who prefer manual insulin injections or wish to avoid the constraints of wearable devices, the smart multiple daily injection system provides an integrated solution for blood glucose monitoring, dose calculation, and insulin delivery. The system includes the InPen smart insulin pen (used for insulin injection), the Simplera or Guardian 4 continuous glucose monitoring system, and complementary applications and services. Our Bluetooth-enabled smart insulin pen can connect with intelligent dosing software and user-friendly mobile applications, offering personalized insulin dosing recommendations—including mealtime insulin doses and correction dose suggestions—based on readings from the continuous glucose monitoring sensor.
