Fractyl is applying new scientific insights in intestinal biology to advance the treatment and potential cure of metabolic diseases. Fractyl's growing product pipeline leverages its minimally invasive procedural therapy, Revita™ DMR (Duodenal Mucosal Resurfacing), which aims to rejuvenate the duodenal lining and improve patient health. Revita DMR is a minimally invasive procedural therapy that uses hydrothermal ablation to safely remove excess layers of duodenal mucosa formed due to high-fat and high-sugar diets. After applying heat, the human body self-restores, regenerating a new and healthy duodenal lining. Fractyl believes that rejuvenating the duodenal lining through hydrothermal ablation may restore insulin sensitivity and metabolic health in patients. The Revita system consists of a console and an innovative single-use balloon catheter. The console monitors the procedure, while physicians use the catheter to access the duodenum and perform the DMR procedure in outpatient settings.Fractyl is currently advancing the global clinical development of Revita DMR, initially targeting diseases caused by insulin resistance, including type 2 diabetes (T2D), non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) patients, while also exploring the combination of Revita DMR with cell and gene therapies.
