Qvella

Qvella is a Canadian molecular diagnostics company with the core technology being the Field Activated Sample Treatment platform, FAST™, which enables automatic sample processing within a closed test cartridge. Utilizing an electrodissolution and sample activation technique, it directly centrifuges and electrodissolves pathogen cells. This allows for pathogen detection using blood samples without the need for complex and time-consuming traditional nucleic acid extraction and purification processes, thereby enabling rapid and low-cost diagnosis. Qvella’s FAST-Technology™ (Field Activated Sample Treatment) facilitates automation and acceleration at different stages of microbiological workflows, generating actionable bloodstream infection information within minutes. The FAST technology includes preferential lysis of sample cells, rapid separation and concentration of specific target cell types (including pathogenic cells), online e-Lysis™ without extraction, producing clean lysate suitable for NAAT.
