Jiangxi Institute of Biological Products Inc. was established in 1969, originally as the Jiangxi Branch of the Shanghai Institute of Biological Products under the Ministry of Health, with over fifty years of history in biopharmaceuticals. In 2002, it was restructured into a limited liability company, and in December 2017, it underwent a shareholding system reform. The company owns six wholly-owned subsidiaries distributed across various regions of China, making it the only national high-tech leading enterprise in China that specializes in the research, production, and sales of antitoxins and immunoserum biological products. The company has built the first GMP-standard biopharmaceutical production workshop in the antiserum field to adopt isolator-based sterile filling; it has established the largest GMP-compliant immunized horse plasma and pregnant mare serum production base in Zhangye City, Gansu Province, and purchased 200,000 acres of grassland in Longnan City, Gansu Province, to establish a horse breeding and reproduction base. In Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, it built the first and largest blood gonadotropin preparation workshop in China that complies with EU GMP standards. In Shenzhen, it established a collaborative R&D service platform integrating frontier pharmaceutical science and technology research, clinical trials CRO for drug devices, and combining production, academia, research, medicine, and application. The company's main products include tetanus antitoxin (immunoglobulin) and injectable blood gonadotropin, while also operating chemical products such as chlorine dioxide, povidone-iodine, and enhanced glutaraldehyde. It engages in the breeding of laboratory animals and the promotion of biotechnology services. Its leading product, tetanus antitoxin, has won awards such as the "Gold Award at the 7th ASEAN Traditional Chinese Medicine Academic Conference" and "Outstanding New Product of Jiangxi Province." The leading products have strong production and sales capabilities, with exports to more than 30 countries and regions worldwide, serving over a billion global users. The company has established a municipal HaiZhi Plan workstation, a Jiangxi Province Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base, a provincial-level enterprise technology center, the Jiangxi Province Laboratory Animal Center, and an Immune Technology Research and Development Center. With over ten thousand square meters of production, testing, and R&D space, it is equipped with high-precision professional R&D analysis, testing instruments, and high-end production equipment. Multiple new products have progressed from small-scale lab production to pilot-scale expansion and large-scale industrial production, demonstrating strong R&D capabilities and the ability to transform scientific achievements into technology.
