PopVax

PopVax is a full-stack biotechnology company in India that uses computational protein design to develop novel mRNA vaccines and therapies. Since its establishment at the end of 2021, we have developed a novel mRNA architecture for displaying immunogens on virus-like particles (VLPs), a lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery platform for mRNA using novel ionizable lipids designed by PopVax, and a machine learning-enabled computational approach for protein design. These platforms, together with our small-scale GMP production facilities and clinical dose manufacturing processes, form the foundation of PopVax’s ability to rapidly advance new mRNA biologics from concept to clinical trials. Our first vaccine is an open-source next-generation COVID-19 booster, which will enter its first-in-human Phase I clinical trial early next year—this vaccine aims to broaden protection against current and predicted future SARS-CoV-2 variants, reducing the likelihood of sudden new mutations causing another wave of widespread infections.
