Rila Therapeutics is committed to anti-fibrotic therapies, focusing on a breakthrough HIPK2 inhibitor for the treatment of renal fibrosis. Its lead program is a first-in-class small molecule allosteric inhibitor targeting HIPK2 in renal fibrosis, which will enter IND-enabling studies in October 2022. There remains a significant unmet need in addressing renal fibrosis, which underlies the progression of chronic kidney disease to end-stage renal failure.
