Agency on Aging Area 4

Agency on Aging Area 4 is one of the original six aging agencies in California. A decade later, the agency was reorganized into a non-profit Joint Powers Authority (JPA). Unlike many other aging agencies, our agency is an independent Joint Powers Authority with non-profit status. As a result, AAA4 enjoys greater operational flexibility, attracts a different type of employee, and has a distinct image in the community. The agency's Joint Powers Authority status directly ties it to the county board of supervisors, enhancing its strength and credibility while ensuring accountability.
