SGS is an internationally recognized testing, inspection, and certification body, and is a globally acknowledged benchmark for quality and integrity. Established in 1991 by the SGS Group and the China Standards Technology Group, which belongs to the State Administration for Market Regulation system, SGS derives its name from the initials of "General Notary Office" and "Standards Measurement Bureau." It has since built 90 branches and over 200 laboratories across China, employing more than 15,000 well-trained professionals. SGS was the first third-party joint venture inspection agency in China to receive ISO 17020 accreditation from the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). Its laboratories are recognized by multiple authoritative organizations, including CNAS, CMA, IECCC, GS, DAKKS, UKAS, HOKLAS, KFDA, JPMA, ISTA, CCC, and cGMP. In China, SGS’s service capabilities fully cover agricultural food, consumer goods, minerals, petrochemicals, industry, energy, automotive, environment, biomedicine, e-commerce, and more, providing comprehensive quality solutions such as testing, inspection, certification, training, and calibration for various industries.
