Peregrine Ophthalmic was founded in 2013 and is a privately-owned company headquartered in Singapore. The flagship product of Peregrine Ophthalmic is Lipolat, a liposomal latanoprost, which is the first nanomedicine product in the field of ophthalmology. It is a licensed technology from the Singapore Eye Research Institute and Nanyang Technological University. Liposomal latanoprost is a sustained-release formulation of latanoprost, initially developed for the treatment of glaucoma. A single dose of liposomal latanoprost has been shown to maintain a consistent and clinically significant reduction in intraocular pressure over several months. Liposomal latanoprost can be easily administered by ophthalmologists in a clinical setting and is extremely well-tolerated by patients.
