Hitachi Asia Limited, established in 1989 as a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., serves as the regional headquarters for seven Southeast Asian countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam). Founded in 1910, Hitachi's medical product portfolio primarily includes diagnostics, treatment, and information systems. The scope of business in this field continues to expand, gradually becoming one of the company’s core operations. The first point-scanning proton therapy system in Japan, developed by Hitachi, began treating patients on January 7, 2013, at the Nagoya Proton Therapy Center.
