Altemia™ and Company, LLC is a biotechnology company. The company’s Altemia is a medical food designed to provide high concentrations of certain fatty acids to supplement the impaired fatty acids found in patients with sickle cell disease due to hemoglobin mutation (HbS). Data from clinical trials conducted under an Investigational New Drug application in the United States indicate that consumption of these fatty acids impacts the cascade reaction leading to vaso-occlusive events. Altemia is designed to deliver the same fatty acids used in these trials in a safe, good-tasting oral formulation.
