RSR was founded in 1982, originating from Dr. Bernard Rees Smith's laboratory at the Welsh School of Pharmacy, University of Wales. The company primarily focuses on the development and production of medical diagnostic reagents, especially in vitro diagnostic reagents for autoimmune thyroid diseases, type 1 diabetes, neuroimmunology, and adrenal autoimmunity. Over the past thirty years, the company has established branches in the United States, Australia, Japan, India, South Korea, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Scandinavia, South Africa, Singapore, Taiwan, and China. The United States and Japan are its main overseas markets.
