Uvax Bio, founded in early 2018, is a vaccine spin-off company from Scripps Research that utilizes the proprietary 1c-SApNP® platform technology developed by Dr. Jiang Zhu of Scripps Research to develop and commercialize preventive vaccines for challenging infectious diseases. Uvax Bio holds the global exclusive rights to the 1c-SApNP® platform and has an expanding portfolio of 12 patented preclinical vaccine candidates. In addition to its lead HIV vaccine candidate, Uvax is also committed to developing vaccines for universal influenza and respiratory syncytial virus. The company’s technology enables the production of virus-like protein particles capable of displaying 20-60 stable antigens to target a wide range of viral and bacterial diseases.
