KinSea Lead Discovery

KinSea Lead Discovery AS is a biotechnology company co-incubated by multiple universities and research institutions, established in September 2022. This startup focuses on developing bioactive substances from marine organisms for the treatment of specific types of cancer. Given that marine organisms are rich in active compounds with nutritional properties and health-promoting effects, the company has developed a method to extract and utilize these compounds from Arctic seawater to treat acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and hematological tumors. Although the company’s pipeline has not been disclosed, its first candidate drug is a targeted therapy based on FLT3 inhibitor activity. FLT3 inhibitors are multi-kinase inhibitors that kill cancer cells by binding to mutated FLT3 proteins and blocking their activity. The company has successfully completed animal proof-of-concept studies and plans to advance to further preclinical trials.
