Basic Information

GRI Bio is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on fundamentally transforming the treatment of inflammatory, fibrotic, and autoimmune diseases. GRI Bio's therapies aim to target the activity of NKT cells to interrupt disease progression and restore immune system homeostasis. NKT cells are key regulators in the early stages of the inflammatory cascade. NKT cells are innate T-cell-like cells that share characteristics of both NK cells and T cells, serving as a functional link between innate and adaptive immune responses. Type 1 invariant NKT (iNKT) cells play a crucial role in the propagation of injury, inflammatory response, and fibrosis observed in inflammatory and fibrotic indications. GRI Bio’s lead program, GRI-0621, is an inhibitor of iNKT cell activity, currently being developed as a novel oral therapeutic for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a severe disease with unmet needs. The company is also developing a novel type 2 NKT agonist for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus. Additionally, GRI Bio has a proprietary library of over 500 compounds, providing the capacity to fuel a growing pipeline.
