Basic Information

GrapheneDx is an in vitro diagnostics company focused on enhancing diagnostic capabilities in point-of-care and consumer settings. The company specializes in functionalized graphene to create graphene field-effect transistors (GFETs), which are biosensors capable of detecting diseases in biological samples. Graphene, a single-atom-thick layer of carbon, is renowned for its impressive electrical properties, enabling highly accurate detection of various biomolecules. GrapheneDx's medical devices are designed to deliver lab-quality accuracy, provide results in under 5 minutes, and are simple enough to be used at the point of care and by patients without the supervision of medical professionals*. The company’s GFET platform is versatile, demonstrating excellent performance across a range of disease states (sexually transmitted infections, respiratory conditions, heart disease, concussions, etc.) and sample types (stool, urine, swabs, blood, etc.) with little to no sample preparation required. Additionally, the platform is capable of multiplexing multiple analytes from a single patient sample simultaneously. GrapheneDx’s first test will utilize non-invasive, easy-to-collect urine samples to diagnose sexually transmitted infections, including chlamydia and gonorrhea.
