Scarlet Therapeutics

Scarlet Therapeutics is developing a unique platform capable of generating novel red blood cell-based therapies to treat a variety of diseases. This approach initially targets rare metabolic disorders such as hyperammonemia and hyperoxaluria, but can also be more broadly applied to other metabolic disorders, cancer, and autoimmune diseases. These therapeutic red blood cells (tRBCs) closely resemble standard red blood cells and possess many unique qualities compared to systemic therapeutic proteins, including systemic distribution, long lifespan, and the ability to carry active proteins within tRBCs, thereby protecting them from immune system attacks.
