PhysioWave

PhysioWave was founded by a group of researchers at Stanford University who realized that pulse wave velocity (PWV), one of the most meaningful metrics for measuring cardiovascular health, has not been widely adopted due to the difficulty in obtaining it. They invented a method to measure pulse wave velocity within one minute while the patient is being weighed, without altering the clinical workflow. Recognizing the potential of this technology in identifying populations at high risk for cardiovascular disease, the company developed a clinical product and subsequently plans to launch a home version with clinical efficacy.
