Lisata Therapeutics, formed by the merger of Caladrius Biosciences and Cend Therapeutics, is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery, development, and commercialization of innovative therapies for advanced solid tumors and other serious diseases. Lisata's lead investigational candidate, LSTA1 (formerly known as CEND-1), aims to alter the tumor microenvironment by activating a novel uptake pathway, enabling more effective penetration of anticancer drugs into solid tumors. LSTA1 initiates an active transport system in a tumor-specific manner, allowing systemically co-administered anticancer drugs to penetrate and accumulate more effectively within the tumor while leaving normal tissues unaffected.
