Cortical Labs

Cortical Labs is an Australian startup developing a new type of artificial intelligence that combines lab-grown human brain cells with computer chips. Through the Cortical Labs 1 (CL1) system, Cortical Labs aims to develop new drugs and therapies impacting the central nervous system, providing novel in vitro cognitive testing for the life sciences industry. Unlike generative AI from companies like OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google, Cortical Labs leverages synthetic biology and human neurons to develop an AI known as "organoid intelligence."
