Basic Information
Detection Technology Plc was founded in 1991 in Finland by three scientists with a background from the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). The company was initially a subsidiary of the Finnish High Energy Physics Institute (Research Institute for High Energy Physics, SEFT) and the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT), aiming to industrialize CERN's ultra-sensitive sensor technology at its inception. Currently, Detection Technology's product line includes X-ray linear detectors, X-ray detection cards, X-ray flat panel detectors, X-ray detector components, and photodiodes, with applications divided into three major fields: medical, industrial, and security. In the medical field, Detection Technology entered the medical CT detector market in 2000 and has since launched related products in niche areas such as X-ray imaging equipment, mammography, intraoperative imaging, CT, dentistry, and bone densitometry (osteoporosis).
